Classical Nihon Jujutsu
Not the stuff of tournament fighting, classical jujutsu is protection intent martial study that stresses maximum trainee effectiveness through superior technique and the ability to use an attacker’s momentum and intent against them. When your objective is survival, our jujutsu program will prepare you to prevail.

Yoshinkai Aikido
Aikido is the practice of harmonizing with the energy of an attacker. The aikidoka strives to be so proficient with his practice that not only does he protect himself, but does no harm to his attacker. It is a deep practice, and is a dynamic metaphor for how we should confront all conflict.

Toyama Ryu Iaido
Our iaido program not only covers this highly militant type of sword training, but explores the use of many other weapon types. With an understanding of multiple weapons, the trainee understands the sword more thoroughly, and develops an understanding of the interrelatedness of all martial engagement types.

UFC International Fight Week 2015 Sport Ju-Jitsu Tournament

UFC-IFW2015 (Press Release)May 19, 2015   – Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.  The United States Ju-Jitsu Organization has announced a US Nationals and US Open Sport Ju-Jitsu tournament will be held during the popular UFC® International Fight Week in Las Vegas July 7-12, 2015. Since its inception, UFC International Fight Week™ has increased in size and activities, quickly establishing itself as the world’s largest mixed martial arts celebration. The weeklong festival provides high-energy, all-star entertainment that the UFC is known to deliver and includes diverse events around town providing something for everyone.

There will be three (3) different forms of ju-jitsu competition, for all ages, weight and experience: 1) The Ju-Jitsu fighting is a one-on-one competition divided into three parts. For part one, the competitor attempts to score with various strikes, punches and kicks. Part two begins after one competitor grabs the other and from there they battle for a take-down to the ground. Part three involves submissions such as strangulations, holding and barring/locking of various body joints. The winner is the competitor that accumulated the most points throughout the match, however an automatic victory may happen if the competitor received “Ippon” (clean action/full points) in each part.

2) The Ne-Waza (Brazilian) fight starts in a standing position and the competitors try to gain points with several throwing, take-down, immobilizing techniques, sweeps and submissions. The fight can ultimately be won by a submission. If a submission does not happen, the fight is won by the competitor that has accumulated the most points throughout the match.

3) The Duo System is a discipline where teams of two ju-jitsu athletes compete against each other. The teams demonstrate possible self-defense maneuvers against a variety of attacks. The attacks include strangulations, hit attacks, embraces, chokeholds and weapons.

The Ju-Jitsu competitions will take place in the Harrah’s main ballroom from July 8th through July 10th, 2015.
Weigh In – Wednesday, July 8th, 2015
US Nationals – Thursday, July 9th, 2015
US JJIF Open Tournament* – Friday, July 10th, 2015
*International grand slam points will be earned in any division with more than four countries
